BCRR
Running Routes: The Bayou Run
(6.6 miles) is the usual BCRR route taken on
Wednesday evening. There are shortcuts and alternative routes as well. The Sunday BCRR
Long Run from Memorial Park
is 10-12 miles.

Houston Marathon Hey, what can we say, it's our home-town marathon. It's usually warm, but there is always great crowd support.
Boston

Lake Tahoe Marathon Expect altitude and hills but you can also expect breathtaking vistas to take your mind off of it.

your training, view it in a variety of formats, and analyze it to
your heart's content. You can also use the software to plan your

Al Lawrence Running Club This area
club hosts two HARRA Spring Series
Races: The Bayou Bash Road Relay and the Bellaire Trolley
Run 5K. Approximate membership 140.
Bayou City Road Runners (BCRR) That's us! We have the
perfect blend of competitive running and social events. Our emphasis
is on having fun as well as fitness and competition. We have
approximately 370 members.
Bay
Area Running Club (BARC) This club's
primary location is the Clear Lake area. They put on the first race
in the HARRA Fall Series- the United Space Alliance 10 miler. Their
approximate membership is 235.
Finish Line Sports Running Club This
club's primary location is the Sugarland area. They put on the 30k
(HARRA marathon warm up series). Their approximate membership is
130.
Houston Area Road Runners Association (HARRA)

not only the masters runner, but adult athletes of all ages who
enjoy being involved in the organization of the sport or socializing
with other athletes of any caliber. This club puts on the 25K (HARRA
warm-up series)
Houston Striders This
club puts on the Houston Half Marathon (HARRA marathon warm-up
series)
Pearland Area Road
Runners (PARC) One of the
newer clubs in the greater Houston area.
Terlingua Running Club This club
puts on the LP run (HARRA Spring series). Their emphasis is mainly
on racing rather than social events.
Tornados Running Club This club's philosophy is "To enjoy running for its
fitness and social opportunities". They host the HARRA Cross Country
Relay (HARRA fall series).

The Dead Runners Society is a discussion group for people who like to
talk about running.
Road Runners Club of America has a home page. You'll find all kinds of info about running and a listing of clubs around the country that have websites.
Sea Rim Striders is a running club encompassing South Louisiana and East Texas. If you are planning a trip to their neck of the woods and you're looking for some running while you're there, stop by their website before you travel.

Saturday afternoon beer-tasting. The tour starts at 1:00 p.m. on
Saturdays. After doing the tour you will receive tickets for free

Valhalla is a non-profit,
graduate student pub located under Keck Hall on the Rice University
Campus, known for its eclectic clientele and cheap drinks.
BCRR is a non-profit
running club, known for its eclectic and
cheap members. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven, which is why we meet there after running on Wednesday evening! In addition, the Houston Press rated Valhalla the "Best Place to Meet Single Women." .
